Western Springs Theft: $12K In Equipment Stolen

In three other cases, residents reported they were the victims of fraud, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • About $12,000 worth of plumbing equipment was reported stolen Feb. 22 from an unoccupied house under construction in the 4000 block of Grove Avenue.
  • A driver told police that another driver struck her front right bumper as the other driver turned west onto Ogden Avenue while she was headed east on Ogden. The first car did not stop. It happened about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
  • A resident in the 5400 block of Fair Elms Avenue told police Feb. 23 that someone set up a fraudulent Turbo Tax account using his and wife's personal information.
  • A resident in the 3900 block of Grove Avenue told police Thursday that someone fraudulently applied for a business loan using his personal information.
  • A resident in the 4300 block of Franklin Avenue told police Thursday that an $800 fraudulent check was issued from her bank account.
  • Jamie K. Grant, 34, of Chicago, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Ogden and Woodland avenues on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was released on bond.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
