• Westmont Village Board approves pilot permit fee waiver program (dupagepolicyjournal.com) — Westmont homeowners and businesses can skip the usual $100 permit fee this fall for select projects like roofs, windows, water heaters, air conditioners, and furnaces, as long as they use Online Express Permits. The Village Board's pilot waiver program runs from September 1 through October 31, 2026, with applications and contractor registrations due by October 31.
   

• Library Receives Master Gardener Teamwork Award (illinois.gov) — Westmont residents can take pride in their public library's Giving Garden, which just earned the State Master Gardener Teamwork Award for its innovative, collaborative design. Started by local Master Gardeners and now using raised beds, the garden donates all its produce to a Westmont food pantry and offers hands-on education for teens, adults, and community groups.
