10 Cars Burglarized In Wheaton: Police

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton police are investigating 10 car burglaries that took place in late June and early July. The burglaries were all reported between June 30 and July 2, according to a recent police report.

Police say in each case, the cars that were burglarized had been left unlocked.

On June 30, just before 3:30 a.m., residents reported that two cars were burglarized and rifled through in the 800 block of Michigan Avenue.

900 block of Michigan Avenue

Just before 3:30 a.m. on June 30, someone rifled through the inside of an unlocked car.

1000 block of Gamon Road

Two cars were burglarized on June 30 at around 3:10 a.m. Nothing was reported stolen, police say.

400 block of north Ellis Avenue

Residents told police that two cars in a locked garage were burglarized sometime between 8 p.m. on July 1 and 8 a.m. on July 2.

500 block of West Union Avenue

According to police, two cars were burglarized sometime between 8 p.m. on July 1 and 8:25 a.m. on July 2. A set of keys was reported stolen.

1200 block of Oak View Drive

A car was burglarized sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on July 2. A pair of sunglasses and a portable speaker were reported stolen.
