24 Speeding Tickets Issued For Sheriff's Thanksgiving Crackdown

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office issued dozens of citations when it increased patrols for the Thanksgiving holiday.

WHEATON, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office issued 24 speeding tickets and made nearly a dozen other citations and arrests during its 2021 Thanksgiving crackdown.

The following tickets were issued during increased patrols that lasted from Nov. 19 through Nov. 29:

  • Three citations for disobeying a stop sign
  • Two citations for failure to yield
  • One citation for distracted driving
  • One citation for improperly passing an emergency vehicle
  • One citation for improperly using a horn
  • One citation for a seatbelt or child safety seat violation

Three arrests were made during the crackdown, including two arrests for driving with a suspended or revoked license and one arrest for reckless driving.

The initiative, which included increased enforcement late at night, is part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket programs.
