8 Democratic Candidates In 6th District Race To Hold Forum

The eight Democratic candidates for Illinois' 6th Congressional District will hold a public forum in December.

WHEATON, IL — All eight of the Democratic candidates vying for a chance to unseat Rep. Pete Roskam (R-IL) in Illinois' 6th Congressional District in 2018 will hold a public forum in December. Democrats are hoping to swing the district in their favor after Roskam has continuously refused to hold in-person town halls for constituents. The forum will be held at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream and will be the first time the challengers all meet face-to-face.

The candidates in this heavily contested race are Carole Cheney, Grace Haaf, Amanda Howland, Ryan Huffman, Kelly Mazeski, Becky Anderson Wilkins, Jennifer Zordani, and Sean Casten. The forum will be moderated by NBC political reporter Mary Ann Ahren and will include questions from Glenbard North students as well.

All eyes will be on these Democrats as they prepare for the March 20 primary. District 6 swung in favor of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, but has traditionally been a Republican-dominated district.
