Cantigny Park Seeks Videos For V-E Day Anniversary Compilation
The short videos will be used to virtually celebrate V-E Day during the coronavirus shutdown.

WHEATON, IL — The 75th anniversary of V-E Day will be on May 8, but Cantigny Park's First Division Museum can't celebrate with residents in person due to the new coronavirus shutdown. Instead, the museum is planning a video compilation and they're looking for help from residents.
The "Cheer for Victory" video will be promoted in part by Honor Flight Chicago and will be shared with "as many World War II veterans as possible," park officials said in an update. Residents are encouraged to submit 10-second videos to commemorate the anniversary. The videos may include photos of family members who served in World War II, 1940s-era dancing and music, vintage fashion, celebratory confetti tossing or whatever creative way to celebrate you think up.

The museum is also asking those donning 1940s-era duds to share their photos along with the hashtag #FDMVEDAY. They also suggest having a socially distant 1940s-themed party, complete with vintage cocktails and a virtual toast.
Those interested in contributing can upload their videos on the Virtual V-E Day Celebration web page.
