Christmas Tree Recycling Scheduled For Wheaton Residents

Wheaton is offering complimentary pickup of live holiday trees during the weeks of Jan. 1 and 8.

WHEATON, IL — It seems like it wasn't that long ago that residents were heading out to cut down Christmas trees in anticipation of the holiday. Now that Christmas has come and gone, Wheaton residents can recycle their holiday trees as part of the city's annual tree recycling program.

Lakeshore Recycling Systems will head out during the weeks of Jan. 1 and Jan. 8 to collect Christmas trees on residents' scheduled trash pickup day. No garbage sticker is necessary for the curbside Christmas tree recycling, but make sure to remove all your ornaments!

Wheaton Weekly, the city's newsletter, notes that trash pickup will be pushed back by a day during the week of Jan. 1.
