Coronavirus Case Confirmed At Wheaton College
College officials say the student is isolated in a house on campus.

WHEATON, IL — A positive case of the new coronavirus has been reported at Wheaton College. The college announced the case in an update from Nurse Practitioner and Director of Student Health Services Beth Walsh on April 3 that said the student is isolated in a home on the campus.
Walsh wrote that the student's self-isolation involves them not entering public spaces. The student has not been frequenting other spaces on the campus and Walsh wrote that they "do not perceive a threat to other students or personnel."
Students and faculty who have had direct contact with the affected student have also been instructed to self-isolate.

Wheaton College shifted to remote learning on March 19, but some exceptions were made for students who needed to remain on campus.

Walsh added that students who are still on campus who experience a cough, fever, and difficulty breathing should call Student Health Services at 630-752-5072 during the day or Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital Emergency Department 630-933-2600 if it's after hours.
Walsh said of the student who was diagnosed with coronavirus, "We wish the student a rapid recovery and continue to pray for all who need healing. "
