Cosley Zoo Sparkles With 20,000 Holiday Lights

Santa will make a special appearance on Nov. 25, Dec. 2, and Dec. 9.

WHEATON, IL — Cosley Zoo in Wheaton will sparkle with more than 20,000 colorful holiday lights for its annual Festival of Lights this year. The festival, which kicked off on Nov. 24, will welcome guests through Dec. 30.

A trip to Cosley Zoo has become an annual tradition for many residents who enjoy sipping hot chocolate and seeing illuminated archways and blinking lights strung on trees or shaped like candy canes and animals. Starting at 9 a.m., visitors can view trees dozens of Christmas decorated by community members in the zoo's Christmas Tree Lane.

The Cosley Zoo lights come on at 3 p.m. every night and stay on until the zoo closes at 9 p.m.

Santa Claus will make a special appearance on Nov. 25, Dec. 2, and Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is just $5 per family for kids to make holiday crafts and chat with Santa. A souvenir photo with Santa Claus costs $3.

Christmas trees and gifts will also be available for purchase throughout the Festival of Lights at Cosley Zoo.
