Double Suicide Killed Fatal Crash Suspect, Ex-Wife In Warrenville
Police say a man accused of killing a woman in a 135 mph crash asphyxiated himself with a plastic bag.

WARRENVILLE, IL — The deaths of a Warrenville man accused of driving 135 mph in a fatal crash and his ex-wife have been ruled a double suicide. The DuPage County Coroner's Office determined that Brian Thunderkick, 62, put a plastic bag over his head and asphyxiated himself. His ex-wife, Linda Arns, 62 died of "self-inflicted combined drug and alcohol intoxication," the coroner concluded.
Thunderkick and Arns were found dead in Thunderkick's Warrenville home on February 22. Their bodies were discovered by authorities who came to issue papers after Thunderkick missed a court date earlier that day.
Thunderkick was accused of driving his Camaro at 135 mph in Wheaton and killing Erika Villagomez, 23, of Elgin. The impact of the crash caused Villagomez'z car to burst into flames and she was unable to get out.

Prosecutors said Thunderkick attempted to flee the scene of the accident and fought off police officers who responded to the crash. They also asserted that Thunderkick had barbiturates in his system.
The prosecution also said that Thunderkick told police his gas pedal was "all the way down" and that he wanted his next car to be a Mustang.

Prosecutors also petitioned Judge George Bakalis to increase Thunderkick's bond, but Bakalis denied the request and Thunderkick was later released on bond.
