DuPage County Coronavirus Update: 3,245 Cases, 174 Deaths

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — As of Friday, DuPage County reports 3,245 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 174 deaths. The numbers include 152 new cases since Thursday. County officials say the number of positive cases is "likely much higher" due to cases that are "unreported or untested."

County officials said 10 coronavirus-related deaths were reported since Thursday. They are:

• A man in his 40s who was living in DuPage County
• A woman in her 70s with underlying conditions who was living in DuPage County
• A man in his 80s with underlying conditions who was living in DuPage County
• A man in his 90s with underlying conditions who was living in DuPage County
• A man in his 70s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Westmont
• A man in his 80s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Naperville
• A woman in her 80s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Bloomingdale
• A man in his 80s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Westmont
• A woman in her 90s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Westmont
• A woman in her 90s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Carol Stream

The news comes as cases in Illinois reach 56,055. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 2,457 as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The county's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office directed Patch to the DuPage County Health Department for a breakdown of deaths by city, but the health department said it is not releasing that information as of press time.

According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. Here is the breakdown as of Friday evening.

• 0-9 years old: 31
• 10-19 years old: 66
• 20-29 years old: 404
• 30-39 years old: 471
• 40-49 years old: 556
• 50-59 years old: 563
• 60-69 years old: 480
• 70-79 years old: 284
• 80 years old and older: 390
