DuPage County Coronvirus Update: 1,861 Cases, 99 Deaths

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — As of Tuesday, DuPage County reports 1,861 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 99 deaths. County officials say the number of positive cases is "likely much higher" due to cases that are "unreported or untested."

County officials said five coronavirus-related deaths were reported since Monday. They are:

• A woman in her 70s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Bloomingdale
• A man in his 80s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Naperville
• A woman in her 80s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Glen Ellyn
• A woman in her 90s with underlying conditions who was living in a long-term care facility in Oak Brook
• A man in his 90s with underlying conditions who was living in DuPage County

The news comes as cases in Illinois reach 33,059. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 1,468 as of Monday.

The county's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office directed Patch to the DuPage County Health Department for a breakdown of deaths by city, but the health department said it is not releasing that information as of press time.
According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. Here is the breakdown as of Tuesday evening.

• 0-9 years old: 13
• 10-19 years old: 18
• 20-29 years old: 227
• 30-39 years old: 263
• 40-49 years old: 303
• 50-59 years old: 327
• 60-69 years old: 287
• 70-79 years old: 174
