On Saturday, April 27, the Cadet Club(a boys club for 1st through 8th grades) of Wheaton Christian Reformed Church hosted a Free Bike Tune-Up day for the community. This tune-up day was similar to the one the Cadets hosted last year, with the key distinction that this year’s event was held in a snowstorm! Despite the adverse conditions, the boys persisted and tuned up 70 bikes, putting them through stations that included chain degreasing, washing, tire inflation, and a checkup by a bike mechanic. The bike owners were invited to enjoy coffee and cookies in the comfort of the church building while their bikes were moving through the stations. Many people expressed appreciation for the event, with one mother stating: “This was an AWESOME event. THANK YOU!!! I can't wait for summer bike rides with the kids.” For more information about the Cadet Club or Wheaton Christian Reformed Church, visit www.wheatoncrc.org.
