Haunted Flea Market Brings Antiques, Shrieks To DuPage County Fair Grounds

The Wheaton Haunted Flea Market will fill DuPage County Fair Grounds with a frightful assortment of oddities and antiques Oct. 21.

WHEATON, IL — DuPage County Fairgrounds plans to get into the Halloween spirit when it hosts the 2017 Wheaton Haunted All-Night Flea Market Saturday, Oct. 21. Guests are encouraged to don costumes as they lurk past hundreds of vendors selling vintage Halloween kitsch, hand-crafted metalwork, fresh honey, and an assortment of other eerie delights.

In addition to the colorful costumes and ghoulish goods, the Wheaton Haunted Flea Market is offering hayrides at the event. Several spooky guests are lined up, including the Horror and Sci-Fi Prop Preservation Association, which brings with it the cryptkeeper's leg from "Tales From the Crypt" and the machete used by Jason in one of the "Friday the 13th" installments.

This year marks the 7th Annual Wheaton Haunted Flea Market, which is put on by Zurko Productions. In August, the company hosted an all-night market event that featured Butch Patrick, who played Eddie Muster in "The Munsters." At that market, taxidermy animals, bat skeletons, and retro clothing were some of the thousands of ephemera for sale. In fact, your very own Patch editor bought a bat skeleton.
