Home Struck By Lightning Catches Fire In Wheaton
A home on Tartan Court caught fire Tuesday after it was struck by lightning, Wheaton fire officials say.
WHEATON, IL — Lightning hit a home in Wheaton Tuesday, causing a fire to break out amid the evening's stormy weather.
Firefighters were called to the 1000 block of Tartan Court just after 6 p.m. When they got to the scene, they saw fire coming from the roof. Fire crews quickly brought the flames under control and the damage to the home was minimal, a news release said.
The residents were able to return to their home after the blaze.
