In the few years since they came to America from Northern Ireland, Keith & Kristyn Getty have become a household brand for fresh new hymns for the church with a Celtic lilt to them. It's hard to find a protestant church that doesn't count this über hit, In Christ Alone, among their staple congregational repertoire. They have become wordsmiths par excellence and their tunes never stray far from their homeland of Ireland. Keith is the serious one, but on stage, he has the ability to make audiences laugh and celebrate the Christian faith. Kristyn is a luminary, who you'd just be content asking her to read the first chapter of John to you. She possesses passion and persuasion in abundance and together, they never stray far from their mission for a singing church.

In An Irish Christmas, you can expect familiar Christmas carols but a lot more. New songs for the season that are finely crafted by the Getty's and their co-authors. Fiddle tunes that make you want to dance a jig, that is, if you knew how. There are plenty of opportunities for audience members to sing along with the Celtic band on stage and Keith Getty at the piano. This Saturday, you might even hear the grand organ in Edman Chapel.

The Getty's have started a revolution and it's well underway. That is, to revive congregational song and to infuse it with new tunes and texts that take their place among the great hymns and Gospel songs many of us grew up singing. So your attendance at An Irish Christmas Saturday is more than just another Christmas event you have to go to. It's an experience you just can't afford to miss. And as a little incentive, type JOY20 in the discount field at gettymusic.com, and you'll get 20% off your ticket purchase.
