Metra Train Fatally Strikes Pedestrian In Wheaton: Report
Officials say the pedestrian was struck and killed near the Wheaton Metra station.
WHEATON, IL — A person was fatally hit by a Metra train near the Wheaton station Sunday. The fatal collision took place at approximately 3 p.m. as an inbound train was heading toward Ogilvie station, Daily Herald reports.
The accident delayed both inbound and outbound Union Pacific West traffic for nearly two hours. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, according to Daily Herald.
Early Tuesday, another pedestrian was fatally struck and killed by a Metra train in Homewood.
