Vote for Student Excellence Foundation Tree at Cantigny!

Holiday Trees on Display for Voting November 22-December 29 in McCormick House at Cantigny Park in Wheaton

The Student Excellence Foundation is honored to be one of seven local non-profit organizations invited this year to share their message by decorating and displaying a tree in Cantigny’s annual Community Trees event. Trees will be on display in the McCormick House at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, and visitors may cast votes for their favorite group’s tree from November 22 through December 29 (closed Mondays).

CUSD200 students win when you cast your vote for the Student Excellence Foundation’s tree! Each organization participating in Community Trees was awarded $2,500 from the McCormick Foundation, and visitors then cast votes for their favorite group’s tree. At the end of the season the organization whose tree receives the most votes gets another $2,500 donation from the McCormick Foundation! Student Excellence Foundation funds directly benefit students and educators in Community Unit District 200, which serves students in Wheaton, Warrenville, and portions of Carol Stream, Winfield, West Chicago, Glen Ellyn, and Naperville.

On December 7th the Cantigny Park grounds, indoors and out, will be full of fun events for the whole family. In addition to the ongoing tree display in the McCormick House, there will be Brunch with the Grinch (10-12:30), the Mistletoe Market (1-7 pm), and Celebrate the Season Holiday Festival (1-7 pm) featuring horse-drawn trolley rides, face painting, storytime with Mrs. Claus, and visits with Santa. Cantigny’s museums will also have extended hours (1-7 pm). Check Cantigny’s website for details: www.cantigny.org/events.
