Wheaton Announces Street Closures for Fourth of July Festivities
Motorists should expect delays in the area where various events will be taking place.

The Wheaton Park District will be hosting the Independence Day Fireworks on July 3 and Fourth of July Parade on July 4.
The 2016 Fireworks Display will be on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the DuPage County Fairgrounds at approximately 9 p.m., with other activities taking place at the fairgrounds before the fireworks from approximately 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Motorists can expect traffic delays on:
- North County Farm Road between West Roosevelt Road and Geneva Road,
- Manchester Road between East Street (Winfield) and North Gables Boulevard, and
- Surrounding neighborhood side streets near the DuPage County Fairgrounds.
The Police Department asks that motorists abide by parking regulations and posted signs and exercise care for pedestrians going to and from this event.

The 2016 July 4th Parade will be held on Monday, July 4, 2016 beginning at 10 a.m. and concluding at 12 p.m.
The following major streets will be closed:

- North Main Street between Geneva Road and West Wesley Street
- West Wesley Street between North Main Street and Wheaton Avenue
- Wheaton Avenue between West Wesley and Front Street and
- Front Street between West Street and North Cross.
Several side streets along North Main Street, particularly East Parkway Drive and East Hawthorne Boulevard, will be temporarily closed for parade entrant staging.
During these events, these streets will be adequately staffed with uniformed Police Officers to assist and direct traffic.
Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays and may choose to alter their travel route to avoid these areas.
