Wheaton North High School students raise $3,500 for Northern Illinois

Home Run Inn supports cause, donates 500 pizzas to students at Spring Fling

Wheaton North High School's student council and students have successfully raised $3,500 for the Northern Illinois Food Bank to help neighbors experiencing food insecurity. The funds were raised through student donations and $1 from every prom ticket sold.

In recognition of the students' hard work, Home Run Inn, a dedicated Food Bank partner in the fight against hunger, donated 500 pizzas. The pizzas were delivered by Home Run Inn’s pizza truck during the Wheaton North High School 2024 Spring Fling.

“We are grateful to the students at Wheaton North High School for this generous donation,” said Chris Fischer, Brand and Cause Marketing Manager at Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The Northern Illinois Food Bank’s network of over 900 food pantries, soup kitchens and feeding programs throughout 13 counties in Northern Illinois serves more than 500,000 neighbors a month. Funds raised will help provide nutritious food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity so they can thrive.

Food donations are crucial to the Food Bank’s operations. Since 2014, Home Run Inn has donated a total of 774,000 lbs. of product to Northern Illinois Food Bank. “We thank Home Run Inn for donating pizza to the students, their longtime partnership, and dedication to solving hunger,” added Fisher.
