• 2 Injured After Semi-Trailer Spills Steel Beams On Edens Expressway (patch.com) — A serious semi-trailer crash on the Edens near Wilmette sent two people to the hospital and temporarily shut Lake Avenue between Laramie and Skokie Boulevard, according to Wilmette police. Steel beams spilled from the truck, damaging several cars, and the Illinois Department of Transportation inspected the Lake Avenue bridge before fully reopening traffic.
   

• Minooka vs Loyola Academy (maxpreps.com) — Loyola Academy's girls volleyball team from Wilmette picked up a straight-sets road win over Minooka, improving the Ramblers' record to 11-6. The team now prepares to host St. Laurence on September 23, while Minooka looks to rebound in its upcoming Southwest Prairie match at Joliet Central.
