• Wilmette Residents Push Back on Proposed Flock Camera Contract Extension (patch.com) — Wilmette officials are considering extending their contract for 22 Flock license plate reader cameras through January 2029, and residents have raised sharp concerns about surveillance, privacy, and data misuse. Police leaders say the system is tightly regulated and has helped solve crimes in Wilmette and nearby towns. The Public Safety Committee will revisit the issue Oct. 14 before the Village Board discusses renewal on Nov. 11.
