New Trier Township Announces Scholarships for Summer Camps

The Township's Child Care Assistance Program is making camp programs avalable to those meeting eligibility requirements.

Alan Goldberg, Supervisor of New Trier Township announced that the township is offering scholarships for children’s summer camp programs. The application form and qualification criteria information are available at the Township website www.newtriertownship.com. Visitors to the website should select Services, then Financial Assistance and then Child Care. A PDF application and instructions are available, and should be completed with all required documentation submitted by April 27, 2018.

To be eligible for assistance, a New Trier Township resident must have lawful custody of a child age13 or younger who receives care in a licensed facility. Both child and parent (legal guardian) must reside within the boundaries of the township. Either custodial parents or the child’s legal guardian must be working (full or part-time), attending school, or participating in a job-training program during the hours of the childcare program. Additionally, eligibility is based upon specific income guidelines.

The township’s Child Care Assistance Program makes financial assistance for the summer camp programs available for children enrolled in a summer camp program of choice prior to the submission of an application for the scholarship. If proof of enrollment is not provided, the applicant will be asked to complete a camp enrollment form and secure documentation from the camp program before a scholarship can be considered.
