• Wilmette Harbor Became Recovery Point In Search For Missing Diver: Report (patch.com) — Wilmette Harbor served as the shore-side recovery point after a nonprofit search team located the body of Naperville diver Michael "Mike" Jones in Lake Michigan, following his Sept. 5 deep-water shipwreck dive. Wilmette police and fire departments assisted when Bruce's Legacy returned to shore, as Jones' family gathered there for closure and to honor his memory.

• A celebration of love in an unexpected Wilmette venue (therecordnorthshore.org) — A local certified nursing assistant and his bride chose Artis Senior Living of Wilmette as their wedding venue, celebrating with residents, coworkers, family, and friends in the community's courtyard. Staff and residents helped plan decorations and roles, turning the memory care setting into an accessible, deeply personal space that highlighted the close-knit relationships formed inside this Wilmette senior community.

• Semi-trailer truck spills steel beams after hitting Lake Avenue bridge on Edens Expressway (cbsnews.com) — Traffic near Wilmette was disrupted Thursday evening after a semi-trailer hauling steel beams struck the underside of the Lake Avenue bridge over the Edens Expressway, spilling part of its load. One car occupant suffered minor injuries, northbound lanes were partially blocked, and the bridge was closed while state crews inspected it for safety before reopening to drivers from Wilmette and nearby suburbs.
