Pizza Payment Scam Involved Online Gamers, Social Media: Blotter
Wilmette Police Blotter: April 10 - April 16

WILMETTE, IL — The following information comes from the Wilmette Police Department as a record of police activity and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Anyone named below is innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
INCIDENTS
FRAUD
A manager at the Domino's in the 300 block of Ridge Road reported at 2:24 p.m. that someone had fraudulently ordered a pizza online and had it delivered to a home in 2400 block of Birchwood Avenue. Police were told that an unknown online gamer had told a juvenile resident that Domino's was offering discounted pizza's through Twitter and had paid $5 through PayPal, purportedly to purchase a pizza worth $25. The mother of the minor covered the cost of the pizza when it arrived.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 800 block of 15th Street reported that they suspected had gotten into their unlocked Ford Explorer around 3 a.m. on April 19, although nothing was reported missing.
PACKAGE THEFT
A resident of the 1600 block of Wilmette Avenue reported on April 19 that they had never received a watch they purchased from Macy's that had been delivered that day. The resident believes someone stole the package, and Macy's agreed to replace the watch.

ARRESTS
Mark Ude, 27, of the 400 block of Wilshire Drive in Wilmette, was arrested following a traffic stop at 11:36 p.m. on April 16 in the 2600 block of Glenview Road. Ude, the driver, reportedly showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving. He later provided a breath sample indicating his blood alcohol concentration was 0.219, nearly three times the legal limit, and was charged with DUI.
Marcin Selwocki, 48, of the 3000 block of O'Connor Drive in River Grove, was arrested following a traffic stop at 1:11 p.m. on April 18 near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and 10th Street. He was reportedly pulled over for a minor traffic violation and was found to have a suspended license and be under the influence of alcohol.
