48th ANNUAL HIGHWOOD DAYS TO FEATURE INAUGURAL NORTH SHORE TACO FEST
Carnival rides, games, food, drinks, live music and more! July 20-24, Downtown Highwood Metra Lot

HIGHWOOD, IL (JULY 20-24, 2016) – The City of Highwood is proud to introduce the Inaugural North Shore Taco Fest, where the region’s best taco-centric restaurants, caterers and food trucks will come together to offer a wide range of mouth-watering taco creations. As the newest addition to its oldest festival Highwood Days, the City will come alive on July 20-24th with carnival rides, funnel cakes, beer & margarita garden, live music and tons of food from local vendors. Now in its 48th year, this is the most traditional festival and will not disappoint!
“The once simple creation of the taco has now progressed into an art form,” said Alderman Eric Falberg. “From Asian to traditional, sweet to savory, North Shore Taco Fest on July 23rd & 24th is bringing taco artisans together working their flavorful magic to create the next taco masterpiece. And, with Highwood’s culinary history, there’s no better place to do that than here during Highwood Days, one of the oldest festivals on the North Shore.”
The Highwood Days carnival will open Wednesday, July 20th from 5-10 p.m. to coincide with the Highwood Chamber of Commerce Evening Market starting at 4 p.m. The event continues Thursday, July 21st from 4-10 p.m. and Friday, July 22nd from 4-11 p.m. featuring a full music line up and a variety of food and drink vendors.
