All 4 in Wisconsin Boating Accident Attended New Trier
UPDATE: High school expresses "deepest condolences" following weekend tragedy on Lake Beulah. Two men now identified.
All four young men presumably killed in an early Sunday morning boating accident in southern Wisconsin attended New Trier High School for at least part of their high school careers, the school confirmed Monday.
Two of the young men, both of Winnetka, have been identified: Lanny Patrick Sack, 20, and Christopher McQuillen, 21.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we learned yesterday of the boating-accident deaths of four young men,” school officials wrote in a statement. “From information received at this point, it appears that all of the men attended New Trier Township High School for all or part of their high school years ... Our deepest condolences are extended to the families and friends as they cope with this tragic loss.”

An overturned canoe was found as well as evidence of cracked ice. Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the accident.

McQuillen’s father, Joe, spoke to the Chicago Tribune on Monday. He said his son was home from Northern Illinois University on winter break.
“He was just gone. He kind of slipped through our fingers like water,” McQuillen said. “But he knew he was loved.”
