WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS
HOME BURGLARY
Someone got into an unlocked garage in the 800 block of Glen Oak Drive between 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 and stole cash, credit cards and a driver's license worth a combined $361 from an unlocked car inside.

ARRESTS
A 38-year-old Winnetka woman was arrested at 11:16 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the 0-100 block of Brier Street and charged with driving with a suspended license. She was also ticketed for speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle.

INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 100 block of Maple Hill Road reported on the morning of Feb. 21 that debt collectors had contacted them in an attempt to collect on a $402 bill someone had racked up at Harrah's Casino using the resident's identity.
EXTORTION ATTEMPT
A resident of the 900 block of Skokie Ridge Drive reported on the morning of Feb. 21 that someone had mailed them a letter demanding $3,650 worth of Bitcoin in exchange for "not disclosing a secret."
IDENTITY THEFT ATTEMPT
Someone opened up an American Express card account from outside of Illinois using the identity of a resident of the 1000 block of Meadow Road, police were told on the evening of Feb. 24.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 42-year-old Chicago man was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Harbor Street and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was also issued citations for driving with one headlight and without insurance.
NORTHFIELD
INCIDENTS
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone stole various dog grooming tools, multiple bags of dog food and about $200 in cash from a dog and cat grooming salon and pet boutique in the 300 block of South Happ Road, police were told on the morning of Feb. 21. Police believe someone broke into the building and are continuing to investigate.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 21-year-old Glenview man was arrested at 12:09 a.m. on Feb. 22 near I-94 and Tower Road and charged with excessive speeding – 94 mph in a 55 mph zone following a traffic stop.
