Fake Narcotics Prescriptions Passed At Winnetka Pharmacy: Blotter

Glencoe, Northfield, Winnetka incident and arrest reports for the week of Feb. 15 to Feb. 21.

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARY
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue during the overnight hours of Feb. 12-13 and stole three cell phone cables and a garage door opener. The total reported loss was $300.

HOME BURGLARY ATTEMPT
Someone tried to break into a home in the 700 block of Oak Street during the overnight hours of Feb. 12-13, damaging the home's front door.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked car in the 500 block of Hawthorne Lane between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on Feb. 13. The reported loss was $1,560.

FORGERY
An employee at a pharmacy in the 700 block of Elm Street reported on the evening of Feb. 16 that someone came in and presented faked prescription refills for narcotics on several occasions between August 2017 and February 2017. Police continue to investigate and declined to share any details about the incidents.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a garage door opener from inside a car left unlocked in a driveway in the 800 block of Cherry Street during the overnight hours of Feb. 17-18 for a reported loss of $100.

ARRESTS

Charles L. Ash, 56, of the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue, Glenview, was arrested at 3:07 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the 600 block of Green Bay Road and accused of driving a vehicle in violation of a Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device and cited for unlawful use of a cell phone while driving.

IDENTITY THEFT ATTEMPTS

A resident in the 300 block of East Elm Court reported on the evening of Feb. 13 that someone had used their name and address to try to make a $900 purchase through iTunes but was unsuccessful.

A resident in the 100 block of Mayfair Lane reported on the morning of Feb. 18 that someone had tried to access their credit card, requested a replacement card and tried to charge $3,753 to the account but was unsuccessful.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 22-year-old Glenview woman and a 31-year-old Evanston man were issued citations for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and no license plate registration following a traffic stop prior to 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 in the 1200 block of Sheridan Road.

A 34-year-old Glenview man was pulled over near the intersection of Dundee and Hohlfelder roads shortly before 9 a.m. on Feb. 17 and ticketed for speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFTS
A resident of the 0-100 block of Meadowview Drive reported on the morning of Feb. 12 that someone had stolen their identity and had unauthorized checks issued in their name.

Another resident of the 0-100 block of Meadowview Drive reported that someone stole their identity and used it to open up an unauthorized Verizon account.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
Police are investigating a report of a suspicious man following a Northfield boy.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 19-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 and accused of with driving without a valid license, insurance and speeding 58 mph in a 30 mph zone following a traffic stop in the area of Willow Road and Three Lakes Drive.

A 30-year-old Berwyn man was arrested at 3:39 p.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with driving on a suspended license and using a cellphone while driving in a school zone following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Sunset Ridge Road.

A 38-year-old Zion man was arrested at 11:28 p.m. on Feb. 17 and charged with driving without a valid driver's license and cited for not having a rear license plate light following a traffic stop in the area of Waukegan and Winnetka roads.

A 26-year-old Skokie man was arrested at 2:06 a.m. on Feb. 18 and charged with excessive speeding (103 mph in a 55 mph zone) and expired registration following a traffic stop on I-94 at Tower Road.
