Cello 'Misplaced' From Hubbard Woods' Music Room
An identity thief made off with more than $10,000 worth of merchandise on a victim's Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's credit cards.

The following information is from the Winnetka Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
THEFT
A victim discovered between 3 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 19 that unknown offender(s) removed an unattended cello by the music room hallway at Hubbard Woods Elementary School. Amount of loss $1,300.

THEFT
A victim discovered between 10:15 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. on Jan. 29, unknown offender(s) removed $160 from an unsecured locker in the boy’s gym locker room in the 300 block of Winnetka Ave.

UPDATE on Feb. 22: A school official said the cello has been located safely by the family.
IDENTITY THEFT
A victim discovered between noon on Jan. 16 and noon on Jan. 22., unknown offender(s) made unauthorized purchases using the victim’s Kohl’s Department Store credit card. Amount of loss $816.67.
A victim discovered between 10 a.m. on Dec. 6 and 9 p.m. on Dec. 7, unknown offender(s) made unauthorized purchases on the victim’s Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s credit cards. Amount of loss in excess of $10,000.
