WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from official reports compiled by the police departments of Glencoe, Northfield and Winnetka as a record of police activity and of those arrested. Someone switched a diamond necklace with a fake one, a resident in the 300 block of Hazel Avenue told police on Nov. 8. Police said it is unknown when or where the swap took place.

A 29-year-old Waukegan man issued a citation for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis in the 500 block of Green Bay Road on Nov. 14 at 12:47 a.m.

A 22-year-old Chicago man was issued a citation for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis on Sheridan Road on Nov. 13 at 10:18 p.m.

SCAM ATTEMPT

A man told police he had been withdrawing cash from an ATM in the 1700 block of Orchard Lane when he was approached by a well-dressed gentleman who asked him for directions to O'Hare. After he was given directions, the nicely dressed man reportedly presented the man with two Armani jackets "as a token of his appreciation," police said. The man then gave him $150 in cash voluntarily, but later he learned similar incidents have been described online as "The Armani Jacket Scam."

STOLEN CAR

A 2013 Lexus was stolen and a 2010 Mercedes Benz was burglarized in the 200 block of Latrobe Avenue sometime between Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 6 a.m. The incidents are being investigated by detectives.

ARRESTS

A 28-year-old Chicago woman was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license when police pulled her over for using a cell phone while driving in the area of Willow Road and Walnut Street on Nov. 6 at 4:14 p.m.

Rashonda K. Frazier, 25, of the 400 block of West 96th Street, Chicago, was arrested on Nov. 10 at 4:51 p.m. and charged with two counts each of battery and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred at the Mariano's, 1822 Willow Rd.

When police took her into custody, they discovered she had several outstanding warrants, including a Cook County warrant to be held without bond on charges of identity theft. Frazier is being held without bond at Cook County Jail ahead of a Dec. 15 court appearance.

Adrian S. Jonas, 33, of the 500 block of East Golf Road in Libertyville was arrested Nov. 11 at 12:35 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was pulled over for reportedly driving 65 mph in a 35 mph zone in the area of Willow Road and North Forestway. He was charged with DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit, and excessive speeding.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT

Someone made an unauthorized purchase of $76.49 on the American Express credit card of a resident of Sheridan road between 7 p.m. and midnight on Oct. 30, police were told on Nov. 8.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident of the 300 block of Poplar Street discovered that someone had used their personal information to obtain a fake driver's license and tried to use it to withdraw crash from an out-of-state Chase Bank between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 8. There was no immediate reported loss.

THEFT

Someone stole an iPhone worth $650 that had been left unattended in a rehearsal room at New Trier High School between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Nov. 2, police were told on Nov. 9.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident in the 900 block of Hill Road discovered that someone had used their personal information to open up a fraudulent eBay account and made an unauthorized purchase of $248.91 between 9 a.m. on Oct. 31 and noon on Nov. 10.

RETAIL THEFT

On Nov. 11, around 3:30 p.m., someone walked into a store in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue and stole a bracelet worth $120, police were told.

STOLEN CAR

Someone stole an unlocked vehicle that had its key fob left inside from outside a home in the 1300 block of Sunview Lane between 5 p.m. on Nov. 11 and 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 12. The vehicle also had $250 in cash and some sunglasses inside. The reported loss was in excess of $5,000, police said.

THEFT

A resident of the 500 block of Chestnut Street discovered someone damaged a lot on a basement storage unit and stole about $30 worth of various tools and cash between Nov. 5 and Nov. 12.

ARRESTS

Virginia Resko, 19, of the 600 block of Abbotsford Road, Kenilworth, and Elizabeth Melio, 20, of the 100 block of Chestnut Street, Winnetka, were arrested Nov. 8 shortly before 9 a.m. at the Winnetka Police Department and charged with criminal defacement. Police said their arrests were the result of an investigation into an Oct. 7 incident that took place in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue.

A 35-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving with a suspended license and cited for expired registration and no proof of insurance following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Green Bay Road on Nov. 8 at 3:46 p.m.
