Incidents and arrests from the Glencoe, Northfield and Winnetka police blotter from Oct. 25 to Oct. 31.

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
WINNETKA
INCIDENTS
THEFT
A resident of the 100 block of Sheridan Road reported on Oct. 28 that someone stole more than $5,000 worth of jewelry between Dec. 15, 2017 and March 15.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone stole a purse from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 800 block of Foxdale Avenue between 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 4 a.m. on Oct. 25. Wallet, credit cards and cash were reported stolen for a loss of $785.
- Someone got into an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Foxdale Avenue between 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 25. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
- Someone stole a bag from an unlocked car parked in the 900 block of Fisher Lane between 7 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 25. The bag was later found in the area.

+ List My BusinessJack Santiago, 44, of the 1400 block of North Kedvale Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 5 a.m. on Oct. 27 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Maple Street. He was also issued citations for an improper turn, speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle.
Christine J. Roberson, 33, of the 5900 block of West Superior Street in Chicago, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 1000 block of Tower Road on an active arrest warrant for a criminal damage to property charge out of Chicago..
CAR BURGLARY
Someone ransacked an unlocked Buick parked in the 700 block of Greenleaf Avenue prior to 9 a.m. on Oct. 25, but nothing was reported stolen or damaged.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Country Lane resident reported on the afternoon of Oct. 26 that someone had opened up a Best Buy credit card using their identity and racked up $2,800 in bills before the resident was notified and the card was cancelled.
ARRESTS
A 22-year-old Round Lake Beach man was arrested around 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 28 near the intersection of Dundee Road and the Edens Expressway, charged with driving with a suspended license and cited for driving without insurance.
A 22-year-old Chicago woman was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 29 near the intersection of Harbor Street and Sheridan Road and charged with driving without a valid license. She was also cited for improper lane usage.

INCIDENTS
SUSPICIOUS EMAILS
A Colonial Lane resident called police around 2 p.m. on Oct. 23 to report someone had sent emails claiming that they had hacked the homeowner’s accounts and demanding money to return control of the accounts. Officers recommended the resident contact their internet service provider.
ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
A resident in the 4000 block of Arbor Lane reported around 3 p.m. on Oct. 23 that they had received harassing emails from a former spouse. The resident did not wish to press charges but sought to have the incident documented.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
A hardware store employee in the 1800 block of Willow Road reported around 12:15 p.m. that a customer had attempted a suspicious return. Store staff did not want to press charges but requested that the incident be documented.
SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALL
A salon owner at 1670 Willow Road reported around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 that they had gotten a phone call from someone asking about an appointment for a bridal party. The caller offered credit card information to the owner and asked several questions about the credit card machine used by the salon. Police were contacted after the card was declined and the owner became suspicious.
IDENTITY THEFT
An Eaton Street resident reported around 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 24 that their credit card company had contacted them about a recent unauthorized inquiry.
SUSPICIOUS CAR
Police were called to an auto repair shop around midnight on Oct. 28 for a report of a suspicious car in the lot. Officers determined the vehicle had been dropped off at that location for repair.
ARRESTS
Daniel C. Williams, 36, of the first block of South Wolf Road in Wheeling, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 27 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for unsafe equipment and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle in the area of Willow Road and the Edens Expressway after officers noticed him driving down Willow Road with a missing left front tire.
