Winnetka Community House to Celebrate its 100th Anniversary Saturday, Nov. 5

Winnetka Community House will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a family-oriented party from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. The event will include arts & crafts, pony rides, inflatables, and visits from magician "Magic by Randy," and Chicago Wolves mascot, Skates.

The food for the anniversary event is being donated by The Grand Food Center, with stores in Winnetka and Glencoe.

The morning will begin with arts & crafts, along with other kid-friendly activities that continue until 1 p.m. At noon, the Chicago Wolves mascot, Skates, will be shaking hands with attendees and pose for photographs. “Magic by Randy” takes the stage from 1- 2 p.m., and the afternoon will end with a celebratory toast (champagne or sparkling grape juice) and dessert from 2-3 p.m.

Winnetka Community House was founded in 1911 to enrich the lives of North Shore residents, their families and friends by providing educational, cultural, social and recreational opportunities. It offers its patrons a full-service Fitness Centre and full gymnasium. Theater and dance productions are held year-round in historic Matz Hall, and the facility frequently hosts weddings, business meetings, and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. It’s home to a number of North Shore’s key non-profit organizations, including the North Shore Art League, Junior League of Evanston–North Shore, and the Winnetka Youth Organization.
