False Police Report Leads To Felony Charge: Blotters
A home break-in, a stolen car and the theft of over $10,000 worth of jewelry are on Winnetka, Glencoe, Northfield blotters for Feb. 21–27.

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS
THEFT OF LOST OR UNATTENDED ITEM
A resident in the 800 block of Elm Street reported that someone had stolen an earring between 12:15 and 12:45 p.m. on Feb. 18 after it had fallen on the floor.

- A Willow Road resident reported on the morning of Feb. 20 that someone had used their identity to open up an unauthorized Visa credit card and make more than $800 in purchases.
- A Foxdale Avenue resident reported on Feb. 23 that someone had used their identity to take out loans and open up multiple unauthorized accounts with phone carriers for an undetermined loss.
SHOPLIFTING
- An employee of a consignment shop in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reported that someone stole a purse worth nearly $250 from the store between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 22.
- An employee of a store in the Laundry Mall at 566 Chestnut St. reported on Feb. 23 that someone had stolen a dress worth $330 around 5 p.m. on Feb. 22.
ARRESTS
A 28-year-old Evanston man was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 and charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Police also gave him a ticket for having only one working taillight.

INCIDENTS
THEFT
Someone stole more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from a home in the 100 block of Old Green Bay Road at some point before the morning of Feb. 21, police were told.
IDENTITY THEFT
Someone used the identity of a Vernon Avenue resident to open up a Sprint account and accrue more than $5,000 in charges, which were later reversed, police were told on the morning of Feb. 24.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole an unlocked 2017 Range Rover from the first block of Aspen Lane at some point prior to 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 26, police were told.
HOME BURGLARY
Someone broke into a locked home in the 200 block of Maple Hill Road and stole an undetermined quantity of jewelry at some point prior to 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 26, police were told.
ARRESTS
Weiller S. Watson, 58, of the 1100 block of Green Bay Road, Glencoe, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 at his home and charged with felony disorderly conduct by making a false police report. Police said he reported his car was stolen when he knew that it had been repossessed.
A 19-year-old Waukegan man was issued citations for improper lane usage and possession of a small amount of cannabis following a traffic stop around 8 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the area of Dundee and Hohfelder roads.
A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 9:11 p.m. on Feb. 25 in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road and issued warnings for driving without a rear license plate light and the lack of a valid license. He and his passenger, a 21-year-old Chicago woman, were both issued citations for possession of a small amount of cannabis.
Pouria Kahkesh, 25, of the 9300 block of Karlov Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 27 in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road and charged with driving under the influence. He was also issued citations for littering, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic light and no front license plate.

INCIDENTS
BUSINESS ASSIST
Police were called to a logistics business in the 500 block of West Frontage Road around 12:39 p.m. on Feb. 19 for a report that a trucking company had never delivered a load of freight to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Officers contacted the company and verified the load was accounted for.
SOLICITOR COMPLAINT
A resident in the area of Ingram Street and Drury Lane called police around 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 to report that an unregistered solicitor was in the area. Officers found the solicitor and notified them they would need a village permit to solicit.
IDENTITY THEFT
An Old Willow Road resident's child came to the station on the afternoon of Feb. 20 to reported that their parent had been the victim of an identity theft.
ARRESTS
A 40-year-old Waukegan man was arrested at 11:19 a.m. on Feb. 20 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Willow Road. He was also issued a citation for using a handheld electronic device while driving.
A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 21 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the are of Willow Road and Bracken Lane. He was also issued a citation for speeding 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.
A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 8:18 a.m. on Feb. 24 in an unspecified location and charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the limit after he was pulled over for driving 58 mph in a 30 mph zone.
