GLENCOE

INCIDENTS

CHECK FRAUD
Someone got unauthorizedcontrol over a check that had been submitted for payment to someone in the 1600 block of Frontage Road prior to 9:45 a.m. March 6.

BIKE THEFT
Someone stole an unlocked bicycle from the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue prior to 4 p.m. March 6.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 19-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 3:15 p.m. on March 7 following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Dundee Road and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was also issued a speeding citation.

Linda A. Moran, 49, of the 2400 block of Carmen Court, Lindenhurst, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. on March 7 in the 300 block of Adams Avenue and charged with domestic battery.

Michael P. Drake, 53, of the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue, Glencoe, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. on March 10 in the 300 block of Hazel Avenue on an active arrest warrant issued for failing to appear in court in connection with a DUI charge.

NORTHFIELD

INCIDENTS

SOCIAL SECURITY SCAM ATTEMPT
A Thackeray Lane resident reported on the afternoon of March 6 that someone had called them purporting to be a representative of the Social Security Administration. The caller claimed the resident's Social Security number and bank account had been compromised but hung up after the resident said they would contact police.

RINK FLOODING
Police were called to the 100 block of Dickens Road for a report of a dispute between neighbors regarding an ongoing issue of flooding caused by the draining of a backyard ice rink. Officers referred the case to the village's community development department.

FRAUD
A Thackeray Lane resident reported around 5:45 p.m. on March 8 that someone had used their credit card without authorization.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 43-year-old Gurnee man was arrested around 8:30 a.m. on March 3 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the area of Ash Street and Central Avenue. He was also issued a citation for running a red light.

A 59-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 7:45 a.m. on March 6 and charged with speeding 57 mph in a 30 mph zone following a traffic stop in the area of Willow Road and Bristol Street. He was also issued a no valid registration citation.

A 58-year-old Skokie man was arrested around 1 p.m. on March 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near Interstate 94 and Willow Road. He was also issued a citation for operating a vehicle with expired registration.

WILMETTE

INCIDENTS

THEFT
Someone stole tools from a work truck in the 1000 block of Oakwood Avenue at some point between Feb. 13 and Feb. 19.

CHECK FRAUD
A Forest Avenue resident reported they sold a pair of gym shoes to someone online for $375. After shipping the sneakers to Ohio, the resident received a fraudulent check in the mail for $1,625. After being asked to mail a check for the difference, the resident recognized it as a scam and did not send any money.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Kayla Washington, 24, of the 3200 block of West Douglas Boulevard, Chicago, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on March 5 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers arrived in the 2500 block of Lake Avenue to investigate a traffic crash with no injuries. Officers reported Washington failed field sobriety tests and did not provide a breath sample. She was also issued an illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol citation.


WINNETKA

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFTS

  • Someone used the identity of a Sheridan Road resident to obtain a driver's license and a credit card from HSBC on Feb. 18. The card was inadvertently sent to the resident instead of the thief and there was no reported loss.
  • A Ridge Avenue resident reported that someone used their identity in an unsuccessful attempt to open up a credit card at a Target store between Feb. 22 and Feb. 25.
  • Someone used a Visa card belonging to a Hill Road resident to make several unauthorized purchases between Feb. 28 and March 4 for a loss of more than $1,150.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 45-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 1:30 p.m. on March 2 in the first block of Green Bay Road and charged with driving with a suspended license following an investigation into a person reportedly sleeping inside a running vehicle.

A 32-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on March 5 in the area of Willow Road and Forest Way Drive and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license. He was also issued citations for driving an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

Dorian Ozymko, 41, of the 2300 block of Edna Avenue, Park Ridge, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on March 8 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Hill Road. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
