Glencoe 150 Hall Of Fame Open For Nominations

The yearlong 150th anniversary celebrations will honor 150 extraordinary Glencoe residents from the village's history.

From Glencoe Sesquicentennial Planning Committee: Now open for nominations!

The Sesquicentennial Planning Committee and the Glencoe Historical Society (GHS) are asking for your nominations for the 150 Glencoe residents who will be unveiled and honored as part of the Village’s year-long 150th anniversary celebration at the Glencoe Hall of Fame Dinner on January 26 th , 2019 at Skokie Country Club.

“To qualify for consideration, an individual, (either living or dead) must have either been born here, lived here, or worked here” said Glencoe Historical Society President Ed Goodale: “And this person should have accomplished something that made Glencoe or the world a better place.” The Glencoe Historical Society is currently collecting the nominations, researching each individual and preparing a celebration to honor these 150 extraordinary Glencoe residents. “This list will undoubtedly include men and women of all ages and
ethnicities that have helped shape business, government, science, the arts and sports.

We expect to find many individuals with strong voices, but also others who have quietly and graciously found unique ways to represent the values that this village holds dear,” said Chairwomen of the Sesquicentennial Planning Committee, Karen Ettelson.
