Glencoe Nominates New Village Trustee

Greg Turner was named to fill the vacancy created by Trustee Trent Cornell's resignation from the village board.

From Glencoe Village: Village President Lawrence R. Levin announced today his intention to nominate Glencoe resident Greg Turner to fill the vacant seat on the Board of Trustees created by Trustee Trent Cornell’s resignation. As required by State law, the nomination will be considered by the Board of Trustees. Such consideration will take place at their next regular meeting on September 20, 2018. If approved by the Village Board, Mr. Turner will serve through April 2019, and intends to submit his credentials to the Glencoe Caucus to be slated to run for election in April.A highly-engaged member of the Glencoe community, Mr. Turner has served on the Village’s Historic Preservation Commission since 2015 and was a board member of the Glencoe Historical Society from 2014 to 2017. Mr. Turner holds a master of business administration (MBA) from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and is the current Head of U.S. Investment Operations at Legal & General Investment Management in Chicago.

He and his wife Katie have lived in Glencoe with their two children since 2011.“Over the course of meeting with over a dozen highly qualified candidates, Greg stood out as an excellent choice for Village Trustee,” President Levin stated. “He is extremely bright, and the strength of his commitment to our community is exceptional. I am pleased to nominate Greg to join the Board of Trustees.”In commenting about President Levin’s nomination, Mr. Turner remarked that he “was pleased and proud to be considered for this important role” and noted that he intends to draw upon his many years of experience in organizational growth and development in his role as Trustee as the Village embarks on executing its new Strategic Plan. “My wife Katie and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to live and raise our family here,” said Mr. Turner, “and being active participants and contributors in our Village allows us to give something back to this very special community.”
