Late-Night Metra Station Trespasser Had Related Warrant: Blotter

Traffic stops turn up warrants and result in DUI, drug charges in the Glencoe, Winnetka, Northfield Police Blotters for May 3 to 9.

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
Someone falsely signed for a FedEx package worth more than $1,800 that had been delivered around 11:30 a.m.m to the 800 block of Elm Street.

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT
A Ridge Avenue resident reported on May 1 that sometime between April 19 and 25 someone had used their personal information to open up several credit card accounts and a line of credit at Menard's and made more than $5,000 worth of purchases.

Darren D. Jones, 32, from the 500 block of North Vernon Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:48 a.m. on May 5 at the Metra station in the 700 block of Elm Street on a bond forfeiture warrant issued by Kane County after he was seen in a locked facility after closing. According to Kane County court records and Elburn police reports, the warrant relates to a probation violation resulting from his plea of guilty to resisting arrest and attacking police who tried to stop him from claiming the warming hut another Metra station as his own in 2015.

THEFT
A resident in the 500 block of Green Bay Road reported at 7:07 p.m. on May 5 that someone stole flowers from their front potch.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Sunset Lane resident reported on the afternoon of May 8 that someone had managed to steal $2,500 from a savings account and unsuccessfully tried to open up unauthorized accounts with Chase and Bank of America.

DOG BITE
A ticket was issued in connection with a dog bite at 3:38 p.m. on May 6 in the 400 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Brandon P. Majewski, 33, of the 6800 block of Overhill Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 11:12 a.m. on May 4 near the intersection of Dell Place and Sheridan Road on an unspecified warrant following a traffic stop. He was also cited for having an expired registration.

A 28-year-old Waukegan man was arrested at 12:09 p.m. on May 4 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near the intersection of Green Bay Road and South Avenue. He was also issued citations for expired registration and an improper license plate cover.

Rosita C. Meggs, 58, of the 1800 block of Emerson Street in Evanston, was arrested at 1:43 a.m. on May 7 and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop near the intersection of Forestway Drive and Tower Road. She was also cited for improper lane usage and speeding between 15 and 20 mph over the limit.

Gabriella P. Geroulis, 19, of the 600 block of Dundee Road in Glencoe, was arrested on May 7 near the intersection of Dundee Road and Forestway Drive and was charged with possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop. She was also cited for possession of cannabis and no rear license plate light.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
A representative of a Glenview-based construction company reported at 2:43 p.m. on April 30 that someone stole 15 boxes of exterior stone worth $1,620 from the site of a project in the 2300 block of Clover Lane between Jan. 24 and Feb. 6.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee of the Walgreens in the 1800 block of Willow Road reported at 8:51 p.m. on May 2 that someone stole nearly $1,000 worth of Rogaine and vitamins.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 0-100 block of Regent Wood Road reported at 6:21 p.m. on May 5 that they discvered someone had gotten into their home between 11:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. that day and stolen an estimated $20,000 worth of jewelry.
