New Trier Township Honors 2016 Award Recipients

Supervisor Paddie Brennen and elected officials of New Trier Township honored several Township residents for their service and dedication.

Supervisor Paddie Brennen and elected officials of New Trier Township honored several Township residents for their service and dedication to improving the lives of people at the 167th Annual Town Meeting.

The Friend of the Township Award was presented to Wilmette based Our Place, an organization that provides opportunities to teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Our Place volunteers help stock and organize the Township Food Pantry.

Mona Golub of Winnetka and Deb Hahamy of Glencoe were presented with Supervisor Brennen’s Superior Service Award for their work on Township Volunteer Advisory Committees.

The 2016 Peer Jury Scholarship Award winner was Isabelle Robbins of Wilmette. Ms. Robbins read her winning essay to meeting attendees. The New Trier Township Peer Jury works with local law enforcement and extends an opportunity to first-time juvenile offenders to face a jury of high school age volunteer jurors that offer sentences of community service. The program also provides follow-up and closure regarding the completion of the sentence for each judged case.
