New Trier's Lagniappe-Potpourri Gets the Laughs
This year's three-night production of the high school's student-run comedy skit show received a warm reception.
As a stage show that its students have been producing, directing, writing and performing annually for more than 70 years, Lagniappe-Potpourri is a powerful New Trier tradition. Each year sets new expectations that are sometimes unreasonably high.
"[Lagniappe] is so early in the year this year that I don't know how they'll be able to fit in recent jokes," said Jen Harris, a senior. "I hope all of the jokes aren't from last year, old and forgotten."
The students involved in Lagniappe-Potpourri combined some of the school's inside jokes from 2009 and 2010 with non-stop singing and dancing and a dash of social awareness.
