One Winnetka Project Approved

Development gets nod to move forward by Village Council.

WINNETKA, IL - The One Winnetka project is a go.

The Winnetka Village Council voted 5-1 to approve the project that has divided much of the community in recent years, according to a Daily North Shore report.

The meeting that resulted in the approval lasted several hours, and one trustee who voted in favor called it “the toughest decision” he has ever had to make for the village.

David Trandel and Stonestreet Partners first proposed a seven-story building at Lincoln Avenue and Winnetka Avenue in Winnetka. The plan was scaled back to have one building taller than the other.

Residents who spoke in favor of the idea talked of the “energy” that the project will bring to the village.
