Over $5,000 Stolen In Evening Home Burglary Off Sheridan: Blotter

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 800 block of Lamson Drive reported at on April 10 that someone had broken into their home between 7 and 8 p.m. that night and stolen several pieces of jewelry worth more than $5,000.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 700 block of Prospect Avenue reported on April 12 that someone had damaged the driver's side door of a car parked in front of the home between 8 p.m. on April 7 and 9 a.m. on April 8.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Prospect Avenue resident reported that someone had used their identity to open up an unauthorized credit card account and made a purchase on an existing card. Unauthorized purchases worth $1,384.24 were made between Jan. 5 and April 11.

TRESPASSING
A resident of the 200 block of Ridge Avenue reported on April 12 that someone may have entered their home without permission between 12:50 and 3:50 p.m. on March 28.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident of the 1400 block of Edgewood Lane reported that someone went inside a home between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. and stole construction materials that were later found nearby. There was no reported loss.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 25-year-old Chicago woman was arrested at 4:07 p.m. on April 9 near the intersection of Green Bay and Westmoor roads and charged with driving with a suspended license. She was also cited for operating a vehicle while using a handheld electronic device.
A 20-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 2:23 p.m. on April 10 in the 800 block of Green Bay Road and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and not properly wearing a seat belt.

INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
Someone defaced a post-it board in the 300 block of Park Avenue with graffiti, police learned at 9:21 a.m. on April 11.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident of Old Green Bay Road reported on the night of April 12 that someone had tried to open several lines of credits, obtain a loan and open bank accounts, although there was no reported loss.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Brookside Lane resident reported on the morning of April 17 that someone had twice used their identity in an attempt to file for unemployment benefits.

INCIDENTS
WIRE FRAUD
A resident of the 100 block of Sunset Ridge Road reported losing more than $1,000 in a fraudulent business transaction at 12:26 p.m. on April 9.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Suffork Road resident reported getting a notification that someone had fraudulently tried to open up various accounts in their name.
ARRESTS
A 22-year-old Cicero man was arrested at 8:31 am. on April 12 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Willow Road. He was also cited for running a stop sign and driving an uninsured vehicle.
A 35-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 5:36 p.m. on April 12 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Willow and Waukegan roads. He was also cited for improper lane use.
