Rio Olympics: Swimmer Conor Dwyer Rubs Elbows With Matthew McConaughey, Leslie Jones
The Winnetka Olympian finally meets his No. 1 celebrity fan in Jones. But, Conor, Leslie still says she needs a T-shirt.
Even though he's finished competing in his Olympic swimming events, Winnetka's Conor Dwyer is still finding ways to keep his trip to Rio de Janeiro exciting during his down time if his Twitter and Instagram accounts are to be believed. (And fortunately, none of that excitement involves being robbed at gunpoint, which happened to Ryan Lochte and three other Team USA swimmers over the weekend.)
On Monday, Dwyer posted a photo on Instagram of some of the sightseeing he's been doing, which included a high-altitude cable car ride.
Photographic proof also was provided on Twitter late last week that Dwyer was, indeed, "kicking it" with Saturday Night Live cast member and Ghostbuster star Leslie Jones, his No. 1 celebrity fan. (Although, Conor, you need to find out what happened to that Dwyer USA T-shirt you said you got to Jones. She says she's still waiting for it.)

But she wasn't the only high-profile celebrity who ended up hanging out with members of the U.S. swim team.

Matthew McConaughey—he's the guy in the hat pointing his finger all the way in the back row—has been taking in Olympic events with his wife, Camila Alves. But he seems to be particularly chummy with swimming stars Michael Phelps and Lochte.

His affinity for the Team USA swim team shouldn't be a surprise given what's shown doing in one of his recent commercials for the Lincoln 2017 MKZ sedan. Maybe that commercial was supposed to be a tryout video to get McConaughey a spot in the 2020 Olympics.
