Adorable Orange-and-White Cat Tommy and Sweet Dog Maisy Available for Adoption

The two pets are up for adoption by the Community Animal Rescue Effort.

The Community Animal Rescue Effort has cats and dogs available for adoption. The non-profit organization serves the North Shore region and north side of Chicago. Every week, Patch will highlight a set of cats and dogs available for adoption from C.A.R.E., which plans to open a shelter facility in Skokie in 2017.

Information on these adoptable pets was submitted to Patch by C.A.R.E.

MAISY
“Call me Maisy, rhymes with Daisy,” says this half-grown girl pup. “My life up ‘til now has been so shut-in that everything is a source of amazement to me. I love to meet new people and give them kisses. When I’m surprised, I will bark until I realize things are safe. During walks, which I LOVE, I’m playful and curious with most of dogs I meet outside. (Some dogs, though, seem a little scary so I will bark to ward them off.) I will bond tightly with you. I’m a smart girl, eager to learn all the obedience commands with you. My ideal home would be a family where someone is around most of the time, with a fenced-in yard so I can run and play safely. Won’t you come meet me soon?”

TOMMY
Sweet C.A.R.E. boy Tommy is a laid-back fellow, slightly reserved, which means his true charm tends to get overlooked by potential adopters. But this orange and white boy is a real treasure. And he’s curious, too. “I like to poke around in cabinets and closets to see what’s there. You never know, there could be a box of treats with my name on it. LOL. Sometimes I help myself to a treat or two, but don’t tell anybody! Once you get to know me, you’ll see I have a really good sense of humor. Come meet me!”
