Stroller Stolen From Driveway; Daylight Home Burglary: Blotters

Winnetka, Glencoe, Northfield Blotters: June 7 - June 13

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.


WINNETKA

INCIDENTS

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 800 block of Green Bay Road reported that someone broke into their home between 7:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. on June 4. More than $5,000 worth of jewelry, cash and coins were stolen.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Police were told on June 5 that someone broke multiple windows at a home in the 600 block of Blackthorn Road sometime between May 9 and 12, doing $500 worth of damage.

THEFT
Someone stole a baby stroller from a driveway in the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue between 6 and 9:36 p.m. on June 6 for a loss of $660.

SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole a dress worth $275 from a store in the 500 block of Chestnut Street between 1:55 and 2:08 p.m. on June 10.


GLENCOE

INCIDENTS

VANDALISM
Police were told at 11:09 a.m. on June 8 that someone had written on a piece of playground equipment in the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue. It appeared to be a name and an initials.

ATTEMPTED COMPUTER FRAUD
A Woodlawn Avenue resident reported on the afternoon of June 8 that someone had tried and failed to gain access to their computer.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 300 block of Shoreline Court reported on June 8 that someone had deposited checks into their account before immediately withdrawing an amount slightly less than the deposited amount. There was no reported loss.

THEFT
A resident in the 500 block of Green Bay Road reported at 5:11 p.m. on June 9 that someone had stolen two potted plants.



NORTHFIELD

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT
An Old Willow Road resident reported at 6:12 p.m. on June 4 that someone had tried to open up multiple accounts using their personal information.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident from the 200 block of Graemere Street reported at 9:36 a.m. that someone had rummaged through two possibly unlocked cars parked in a driveway, but nothing was reported stolen.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident of the 200 block of Churchill Street reported at 1:44 p.m. on June 6 that someone had entered an unlocked car parked in the driveway and stolen a checkbook.

THEFT
A Winnetka man shopping at the Northfield Mariano's in the 1800 block of Willow Road reported at 3:44 p.m. on June 7 that someone stole his cell phone and accessories worth more than $300.
