Successful New Trier Grad Who Was Active in Charities Dies

Robert Chodos Jr. was developing his own business in Denver - helping finance real estate projects through two companies he formed.

Robert Bradley Chodos Jr., Beloved son of Christina and Bob Chodos; loving brother of Adam and Hudson Chodos; dear grandson of Laura Chodos and the late Robert B. Chodos, M. D. and the late Isabel Hudson Woods and the late Robert Matthew Woods; fond nephew of Andrew P., M. D. (Patricia, M. D.) Chodos, Lisa Chodos (Bill) Noonan, Amy Chodos Deluca, Linda Woods (the late Jerry) Bumbard and Bob (Deborah) Woods; Robert is survived by numerous loving cousins, friends and colleagues.

Robert lived and worked in Denver Colorado where he graduated from the University of Denver in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Prior to that he attended New Trier High School in Winnetka IL, graduating in 2006.

Robert had a strong passion for the outdoors and helping others. He loved hiking, biking, tennis and golf, and became an accomplished skier during his 25 years of skiing with his family. He was deeply committed to a number of civic initiatives including the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, where he was a big brother and mentor to a young man for the past three years. He truly cherished his role in helping others.

After graduating from college, Robert worked for Wintrust Bank, Cohen Financial and Jones Lang LaSalle in their capital markets group. Most recently he was developing his own business in Denver helping to finance real estate projects through two companies he had formed, RBC Ventures LLC and BHR Realty.

Robert was a loving and caring young man who rarely failed to reach out to his many friends on their birthdays or other special occasions to wish them well or congratulations. He was always there for others and took great joy in helping friends through any challenges they faced. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues and those he touched.

There will be a service celebrating Robert’s life on Saturday, February 6th 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Ridge Country Club, 2100 Sunset Ridge Road, Northfield, IL. A reception will follow, valet parking will be provided.
