WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the police departments of Glencoe, Northfield and Winnetka as a record of police activity, incidents reported to the police and those they arrest. Criminal charges are merely accusations by the state, and they are often dropped or reduced. Anyone named below is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Someone stole an projector worth nearly $700 from an Amazon.com box delivered to a home in the 300 block of Chestnut Street. The incident was reported shortly before 10 a.m. on Dec. 6.
BAD CHECK

Someone sent a fraudulent check to a resident of the 1300 block of Sunview Lane as payment for items posted on a craigslist listing. There was no reported loss.
CAR BURGLARIES
Patrons of the Winnetka Ice Area discovered that three cars had their windows broken between 8 and 9 p.m. on Dec. 8. From one vehicle, the burglar or burglars stole a wallet for a $130 loss. From another, they stole a Louis Vuitton purse with a wallet inside for a loss of $2,830. And from a third, they stole sunglasses and a purse with a wallet inside for a loss of $2,660.
FRAUD
A resident of the 400 block of Elder Lane reported being contacted by someone claiming to have provided computer work and demanding the transfer of funds on the afternoon of Dec. 8. No transfer was completed and there was no loss reported.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident of the 300 block of Walnut Street reported on Dec. 9 at 12:55 a.m. that someone had have made an unauthorized purchase of $28.74.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 16-year-old Chicago boy was arrested at 5:19 a.m. on Dec. 3 in the 900 block of Vernon Avenue and charged with driving without a license, as he was never issued one. He was also ticketed for not having insurance and running a stop sign.
GLENCOE
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 62-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 6:34 a.m. on Dec. 8 near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Lincoln Avenue and charged with driving on a suspended license without insurance and speeding.
Cathy Koppe, 63, of the 6300 block of West Touhy Avenue, was arrested at 12:17 p.m. on Dec. 10 near the intersection of Hazel and Vernon avenues on multiple warrants issued by Morton Grove. They include obstructing a police officer and violation of an order of protection. She was also cited for leaving a vehicle unattended.
NORTHFIELD
INCIDENTS
PRODUCE SCAM
Detectives are investigating a report of a possible scam "involving wiring money to assist with the import of produce from Thailand" reported on Dec. 8 by a Meadowview Drive resident.
THEFT
Someone pumped $35 worth of gas into a red pickup truck and left without paying, police were told shortly after 9 p.m. on Dec. 8. The suspect was described as between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 30 years old and a white man. The truck was described as possibly a Dodge. Detectives are investigating.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 22-year-old Lincolnwood man was arrested at 2:52 a.m. on Dec. 2 in the 1600 block of Willow Road and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop. He was also ticketed for running a stop sign.
A 33-year-old Cicero man was arrested at 12:39 a.m. Dec. 5 near Sunset Ridge and Willow Road and charged with driving on a suspended license. He was also ticketed for speeding.
A 55-year-old Glenview man was arrested at 7:50 a.m. on Dec. 7 near New Trier High School Northfield and charged with excessive speeding (driving 47 mph in a 20 mph school zone.
A 53-year-old Northfield man was arrested at 8:38 a.m. on Dec. 8 near New Trier High School Northfield and charged with excessive speeding (driving 50 mph in a 20 mph school zone.)
