Staff members at BluePearl Animal Hospital in Northfield helped save the unresponsive man with a bystander on Monday.

A veterinarian and staff members at BluePearl Animal Hospital in Northfield used CPR to save the life of an unresponsive man who came in to check on his dog.

The 59-year-old man was at the facility on Monday to check on his 12-year-old golden retriever admitted for complications due to a neurological disorder, according to ABC-7-Chicago. He collapsed in the lobby after meeting with a veterinarian, who worked with staff members and a bystander to administer CPR and call 911. The man did not have a pulse at the time.

The vet had performed mouth-to-mouth right before the man regained consciousness.
