WINNETKA, GLENCOE, NORTHFIELD, IL - Small Business Saturday will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26 this year, with several locally owned businesses taking part in Winnetka, Glencoe and Northfield.
The annual day is positioned between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and was established in 2010 as a way to encourage people to support small, local businesses. The day became official a year later with the backing of national, state and local officials.
The new shopping tradition resulted in an estimated $16.2 billion spent at small independent businesses in 2015.

Here’s a look at a few local shopping options.
Winnetka: Local residents are encouraged to visit one of the village’s four major business districts. Stores participating in Small Business Saturday in Winnetka include Once Upon a Bagel, Avli Restaurant, T.L. Fritts Co., Lakeside Foods and Valentina. Last year, United States Senator Mark Kirk visited stores in Winnetka on Small Business Saturday.

Northfield: The Happ Inn, Star Cleaners and Three Tarts Bakery & Cafe are among the businesses participating in Small Business Saturday in Northfield. Businesses affiliated with the Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce can be found here.
Glencoe: The Glencoe Chamber of Commerce is participating in Small Business Saturday on Saturday, Nov. 26. Discounts of 10-40 percent will be offered at 12 local businesses. Highlights include 20 percent off all jewelry at Valentina, 40 percent off all watches at Olesky Jewelers and 15 percent off everything in the store at the North Shore Exchange.
