WINN (One Winnetka) Approved by Village Board

Much discussed downtown Winnetka project to move forward.

WINNETKA, IL - The much discussed One Winnetka project has been officially approved by trustees in the village.

The project - an effort by the Stonestreet Partners development group to construct a building with 16 condos, six townhomes and 40 apartments - is now known as WINN, according to a Crain’s Chicago report.

David Trandel, CEO of Stonestreet Partners, said the project is intended to be "one of the most significant new buildings on the North Shore.”

Approval of the project came after two size reductions and several public meetings. Previous reports indicate what was originally intended to be a seven-story building with commercial space on the first floor turned into a development with two buildings and less units.

Construction on the development is expected to start in June.
